God's law is not about rules to do or don't. It highlights our character. God is looking for people who are characterized by the heart and spirit that naturally produces righteous action. He wants a people, like Jesus, who fulfill the law by love, not obligation.

What makes a disciple of Jesus different from other people we encounter in our own culture? Jesus says we are salt for the earth and the light of the world. It is important for us to engage with people in our spheres of influence, but how we engage is also important as we help others learn about the character of God.
People seek all kinds of ways to be happy. They read books, watch videos and attend conferences. But in this teaching Matt talks about 8 ways Jesus reveals how to walk in happiness.
When you are an apprentice, you are not just looking to learn a skill for the sake of learning a skill. But you are positioned under a "master" craftsman, etc and your goal is to learn how to fix or do that thing like your master would. To be a disciple is to learn from Jesus how to live our life like He would live it, if He were me.

The death of Jesus brought about the sacrifice needed to confirm the saving power of God's covenant through the Messiah. It is central to our faith in the coming Messiah because it led to the resurrected One.
The life of Jesus is central to how God finishes what he has promised. Without his life we have not fulfillment of what God has promised.
The Old Testament in the Bible speaks of a coming One who will fulfill the covenants of God. The Messiah, who is Jesus is a witness to the word of the Lord.
